The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), an NGO and a member of the International
Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), and a leading provider of Sexual and Reproductive Health
(SRH) education and services, hereby invites result-oriented and committed persons to apply for the
following vacant position to be filled in the Association.
POSITION: CENTER OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAMMES MANAGER
REPORT TO: DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMMES AND SERVICE DELIVERY
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE (ACCRA)
CONTRACT DURATION: ONE YEAR RENEWABLE

Job Role and Functions:
• Manage the implementation of the Centre of Excellence (COE) programme
• Engage with all stakeholders of the CoE Programme at all levels
• Ensure effective utilization and reporting on programme resourcing
• Ensure the documentation and timely reporting on CoE programme
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programme Management
• Lead development of CoE programme work-plan and budgets
• Coordinate implementation of CoE programme activities
• Coordinate engagements between PPAG, Rutgers, IPPF and other partners
• Liaise with other MAs and CoE partners to provide technical support to youth
programme activities.
• Facilitate the provision of technical support to all MAs and partner CSOs who are part
of the CoE programme
• Participate in or Facilitate all CoE meetings
• Participate in critical meetings with partners locally and with partners from across the
Africa region and beyond towards advancing the CoE programme and the SRHR agenda
for young people
• Coordinator stakeholder engagements under the CoE programme
• Coordinate and ensure effective communications and dissemination CoE materials
• Ensure the effective management of the CoE Website and Knowledge brokering
functions, including the management of the share point and CoE website
• Manage and coordinate the work of staff and consultants under the COE
• Ensure effective and regular reporting (both programme and finance) to donor and
within PPAG reporting systems and periods.
Documentation and Communication
• Work closely with the Communications and Advocacy team to effectively coordinate the
development and documentation of various tools, strategies, success stories and best
practices for publication and sharing through the CoE programme, website and PPAG
websites.
• Effectively engage partner MAs and CSO partners to identify, document, share and
publish critical best practices, case studies, research, programme tools, etc. to advance the
knowledge brokering role of the CoE programme
• Effectively Liaise with Rutgers, MAs, PPAG staff and other CSOs in the development
and documentation of their share point materials/content Capacity Building.
• Liaise with the Executive Director, Director of Programmes and Service delivery as well as
CoE programme leads at Rutgers and participating MAs to develop and ensure delivery of
various capacity building activities targeted at various groups and organizations
• Ensure and lead development of various capacity building programmes, content and
approaches to advance the knowledge sharing and knowledge transfer amongst the CoE
MAs and other partners from around the continent and the world.
• Identify, plan and ensure delivery of capacity building activities within the CoE programme
focus areas.
Fund raising and resource mobilisation
• Identify possible areas of collaboration and networking with partners to explore
opportunities for funding for the programme and PPAG
• Assist in proposal writing, fund raising and resource mobilization by participating in
processes and advising management on current funding trends Funds Management.
• Prepare and manage CoE programme work-plan and budgets
• Monitor programme expenditure and funds utilization and disbursements to ensure
effective delivery and implementation of activities at all levels
• Ensure timely and accurate programme and financial reporting Team work and Team Management
• Lead the CoE programme and provide leadership for the rest of the programme
• Effectively manage and facilitate healthy working relationship between the CoE team as
well as between the CoE team and the entre PPAG staff team to ensure harmonization
and coherence in programmes and activities
• Exchange and share relevant information among and within the CoE programme team,
PPAG management, regional CoE Programme team from the MAs and the CoE Global
programme team with Rutgers and IPPF ARO/CO
• Actively participate in PPAG programmes team meeting and other organizational
activities
Others:
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Service Delivery and Programmes
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• A Master’s degree in the social sciences/Public Health or any other related field with a
minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience, 3 of which must be in a similar position.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SRH issues, policies, interventions etc. at
the global and national level in relation to young people
• Must be youth friendly and able to take initiatives
• Must have very good analytical, negotiation skills and demonstrate abilities to exercise discretion
• Very good interpersonal, communication, report writing and presentation skills
• Must be a team player and be able to work with little or no supervision and able to multitask
• Must have good innovative, proactive and goal-oriented skills as well as good analytical skills
