PPAG calls on Minister of Youth and Sports
The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif. The purpose of the visit was to congratulate the Minister following his appointment and successful assumption into office as the sector Minister and to discuss possible areas of collaborations. The PPAG delegation was led by the Executive Director, Madam Abena Adubea Amoah and the delegation was made up of Staff and volunteers of the Association. Amongst issues discussed was the need to support and sustain sexual and reproductive health (SRH) education for the youth as a central component of youth development in Ghana.
Madam Abena, noted that, “promoting access to Sexual Reproductive and Health Rights (SRHR) information and services will ensure that the youth do not lose out in pursuit of their potential as a result of negative sexual and reproductive health outcomes including but not limited to teenage pregnancies, child marriage, SGBV, drug abuse, and others”. The Minister praised PPAG for its contribution to the growth and development of the Ghanaian youth and pledged his support to PPAG’s goals and objectives.
