PPAG HOLDS 53RD AGM

The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) has organised its 53rd Annual General Meeting under the Theme “Impact of COVID-19 on Delivery of Services, the way forward for PPAG” at the PPAG Founders Centre, Accra in September, 2020.
The AGM was a time to reflect on work done in the year 2019 and to project and adopt new resolutions to improve the operations of the Association. Reports were submitted from the three zones of the Association:
Northern, Middle and Southern Zone as well as the Youth Action Movement, the youth wing volunteers of the Association.
In a welcome remark, the National President of the Association, Mrs. Wilhemina Aklaku, expressed gratitude to donors, partners and other stakeholders for the support they provided PPAG during the year.
She stated that, PPAG, as the leading CSOs in the SRHR sector must continue to provide quality SRHR information and services irrespective of pandemics such as COVID-19 and tasked all to ensure that, service delivery is not affected by COVID-19.
She reminded all staff to observe all the COVID-19 protocols in the day to day activities.
In his report, the National Treasurer, Gideon Leckson-Lecky urged the Association to do more in the area of resource mobilization to reduce the dependency on donor funding.
He reminded each volunteer of their core responsibility of resource mobilization and challenged them to do that, in order to increase the financial base of the Association.
In her remarks, the Executive Director, Abena Adubea Amoah recounted the successes of the Association during the 2019 operational year in the areas of Advocacy, Youth Programmes, Service Delivery, Governance, Resource Mobilization among others.
She expressed her appreciation to management, staff and volunteers for supporting the growth of the Association and asked for support to achieve more in the subsequent years.
